If you are intending to travel to any foreign countries you may need to arrange to have travel vaccinations in plenty of time before you actually leave the UK. If you are in any doubt please feel free to complete in a travel vaccination form, where our practice nurses will take a look to see if you require any vaccines for your travels. We then ask for you to contact the surgery for the outcome.
It is important to make enquiries as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you intend to travel - as an appointment may then be required with the practice nurse who will be able to to provide the required vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine and most vaccines need to be given at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work. So if you are making travel arrangements to go to foreign places don't delay -contact us as soon as possible to obtain appropriate advice about any required vaccinations
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
