Please Note: The NHS App is Not Managed by Our GP Practice

We’d like to remind all patients that the NHS App is a national service run by NHS England, and is not operated or managed by this GP practice.

While the app allows you to access a range of NHS services – such as booking appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions, and viewing your medical records – we have no control over how the app works, its functionality, or any technical issues you may experience with it.

If you're having trouble using the NHS App or have questions about how it works, please contact the NHS App support service directly via the app or through the NHS website.

We’re always here to help with your healthcare needs and appointments, but please be aware that any technical problems with the app are outside our control.

Thank you for your understanding.

Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) – NHS Availability Update

We are aware of the recent media coverage regarding Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) being prescribed via the NHS for weight management.

However, we would like to clarify that, in line with Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland (LLR) guidelines, Mounjaro will not be available to everyone who wishes to use it at this time.

Who is eligible?

In the first year of rollout, Mounjaro will only be available to patients who meet very specific criteria. This includes:

  • A Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or above
    AND

  • Four out of the following five conditions:

    • Type 2 diabetes mellitus

    • High blood pressure (hypertension)

    • Heart disease

    • Obstructive sleep apnoea (when breathing stops and starts during sleep)

    • Abnormal blood fats (dyslipidaemia)

These strict criteria are in place to ensure that those with the highest medical need are prioritised during the initial limited availability phase.

We understand this may be disappointing for some patients, but these guidelines are set nationally and regionally to ensure safe and fair access.

📢 Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) – Important Update

We've had a high number of appointment requests from patients looking to start Mounjaro for weight loss.

Please note:
⚠️ Mounjaro is not currently commissioned for weight loss in primary care.
It can only be prescribed for patients with Type 2 diabetes who meet the specific criteria set by NICE guidelines.

Unfortunately, if you're looking to start Mounjaro for weight loss alone, we are unable to prescribe it at this time.

👉 You may wish to explore private or online weight loss clinics for alternative options.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
